Vancouver is home to some incredible activities. So when you’re planning your best gal’s bachelorette party, it’s hard to think of just what to do. There are so many options, the new trending party theme is to take part in two-to-three activities before the dinner and dancing start. Here are some out-of-the-box ideas to surprise the bride-to-be on the day before her big day.
We’ve seen a huge growth in the amount of private bachelorette parties that have reserved either our Little Italy or Gastown Food Tours. It’s a great way to get to know everyone in the bridal party and the other ladies joining you (or men — we’ve had one man take part in a bachelorette and he had a blast!). It’s a good way to ease into the drinking as you’re served a few bevvies, but not enough that she won’t remember the next event. And there’s food. So much food in fact, you don’t have to worry about drinking on an empty stomach, and you can probably forget about planning a big dinner afterwards. The Taste Vancouver Food Tour is a great way to start off the bachelorette party.
Escape rooms are the new rage around the world. Your group will be locked in a themed room (think asylum, museum, haunted house, treasure hunt, jail break, zombies, and many more freaky ideas like that). It’s up to you to find and solve the clues given in order to escape (hence the name) the room. Or die. Just kidding. You won’t actually die, but you won’t succeed. It’s fun, it’s challenging and it’s a great way to interact with everyone. There are plenty of escape rooms popping up in the Greater Vancouver Area like in Gastown, Richmond, Burnaby, West Broadway in Vancouver. Good luck!
Paint Nite is still a great way to have fun with your favourite gals. Grab a glass of your favourite vino and learn to paint with some incredible local artists. Everything is provided (16” x 20” canvas, paint, brushes, smock to protect your clothes). The artist will show you step-by-step how to recreate his/her painting and by the end of the two hours, you’ll have your own version (remarkably similar) to the original, which you can take home and show off with pride. Because Paint Nite is held at restaurants and pubs throughout the city, there’s usually food to be eaten and drinks to be drunk (not included in the price).
Along the lines of Food Tours, going to a mixology class or a wine making workshop could be equally fun (and intoxicating!). Just think, you’ll have your very own hooch to drink for the evening. Schools all over Vancouver can teach you how to make bachelorette classics like the organism, nuts and berries, sex on the beach, jello shots, and… you get the picture. Learn how to Tom Cruise a bottle of vodka (à la Cocktail), or how to get creative with your liqueurs.
