Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in my ticket price?
All food, beverage tastings and tour guide.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased online or over the phone in advance. Our tours tend to sell out quickly, especially May-September. We try to accommodate bookings up to 11:00 am on the day of the tour if seats are available. Tickets can be purchased with Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
How much food is served on the tours?
We make several stops for food and beverage tastings on our tours. The exact number depends on which tour you are taking. For most people, there is enough food and beverage tastings that they feel they had a full meal. You should come hungry!
How much walking is involved?
The tours are 2.5 hours in length but we sit down at a few venues on each tour. We walk at a very casual pace and the tour runs for 5-6 city blocks. The streets are flat and easy to walk. We like to think of it as a leisurely stroll with food and interesting conversations and stories.
What if I have food allergies or special dietary restrictions?
We offer vegetarian and gluten-free options on our tours. Any special requests must be made 24 hrs before your tour date. Please note that our tour tastings may include dairy, eggs, nuts and other allergens. We cannot take responsibility for any allergic reactions. If you have dietary restrictions that limit you from eating certain foods please contact us prior to booking a tour.
Are alcoholic beverages included?
Yes, 3 alcoholic drink tastings are included. We offer non alcoholic options.
Alcohol can only be served to tour guests over 19 years of age (As per BC Liquor Law). Tour guides may ask for ID.

Do the tours have anything to offer local Vancouverites?
Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Vancouver. Locals often attend to learn about the history, new restaurants and unique eateries that they have yet to discover.
Are gratuities included in the price?
No. Taste Vancouver Food Tour guides do appreciate gratuities. Our guides are enthusiastic and they work hard to insure you have an amazing experience. A standard gratuity for a professional tour guide in Vancouver is 15-20%.
Can I get a ticket refund or reschedule my tour?
We can refund or reschedule your tour date with 24 hours advance notice.
Are the walking tours given in bad weather?
Yes, all of our tours operate rain or shine. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather on the day of your tour.
Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time.
Are these tours children-friendly?
Children are welcome on all our tours. Please bear in mind that some children may struggle to stay focused for the duration of a 2.5 hour tour. Tours are typically quite structured and focused meaning it may not be appropriate for all children. Please assess each situation individually. Strollers are not recommended due to the many narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets, some staircases and smaller venues. Children under 5 years old are complimentary.
May I bring my dog on the tour?
Due to the health regulations that govern the various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on our tours. Authorized guide dogs are welcome.
Are any of your walking tours wheelchair accessible?
Our Little Italy Food Tour and North Vancouver LoLo Tour are wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, our Gastown Food Tour cannot accommodate wheelchairs due to the many narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets and certain staircases that we use when entering food partner establishments.
If a tour does not meet the minimum required number of 4 tour guests, Taste Vancouver Food Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour and reschedule tour guests to another date or give a refund.
