Taste Vancouver Reviews

Here are a few of the hundreds of five-star reviews we have been receiving over the years.

Great food in Gastown!

We learned a lot of the history of Gastown, which was really interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The food and restaurants were excellent and varied. Wish I could go back to them, but we had to leave Vancouver the next day. The tour was very organized. I can’t say enough nice things about it. Not to be missed!

Great for Corporate Team Meetings

We booked a food tour for a corporate team meeting and the team had an amazing time! Will definitely book with them again in the future.

Excellent food!

Loved the fun conversations we had with others on the tour, the guide was great and the food was some of the best I’ve had.

Awesome Experience! Don’t Miss Gastown!

This is a fabulous experience! Really good food and a classy, fun time. You get to visit a half dozen local places in one afternoon. Our guide Dan was informative, entertaining, and efficient. The tour was very enjoyable, well organized and interesting- The foods and beverages were good, adequate in portion size. The guide was interesting with a good sense of humor.

Great food tour

Fantastic history/food walking tour covered the length of Gastown. Our guide Dan was terrific, highly recommend this tour.

Gas Town initiation!

Dan was brilliant full of history but also related facts. Food and drink stops were excellent would highly recommend the tour.

Lovely area. Guides was…

Lovely area. Guides was friendly and knowledgeable and kept us on track but without rushing the group. Food and drink venues were all friendly and samples were great

Lovely Afternoon

What a lovely way to learn about Gastown, eat good people and fill our bellies with food and spirits. Kate was a delightful and knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to find out…

Great way to find out where to go back! Good tour. Met new friends
Good variety in beer, cider, wine savory and sweet flavours.

Arrive hungry. Leave full and happy.

Definitely arrive with an appetite! We were so pleased with our guide and the places we visited. The food was wonderful and varied…from poutine to ice cream…we also had a wonderful pasta bowl and a veggie bite (cauliflower) that was amazing. I think went to 6 or 7 places and the walk between helped to spread out the food and drink. There were a couple of places with stairs but otherwise an easy walk.

Our guide provided a running commentary of the sights around the Gaslight district and was easy to talk with. The group was 16 but it didn’t feel “too big”.

This was my husband’s second tour with this company and he is more than willing to go on a third. We definitely recommend this

Great tour!

Sean gave an informative & entertaining tour of Gastown for our group!! The tastes were varied & delicious!! Highly recommend taking this tour if you are looking for a historical perspective of Gastown along with samplings of their cuisine!

 Gastown was great!

We had an enjoyable 3 hours with Connor and our group on a Friday evening in late August. We visited several historic buildings and many unique foods stops in Gastown. Connor was very informative about the history of Vancouver and the Gastown area. It was a great tour and learned a lot!

 Wonderful tour!

Our tour guide, Sean is a great friendly guide. My dad is 96 but the walk with many places to stop and eat was great. We had a good time.

 Katie, Queen of GasTown:

Katie (sp?) took a diverse group of people on a tour of Gastown. For the record: I’ve been to Gastown – several times.

She showed us the diversity of food “cultures” within Gastown. She added an historical touch to what we saw/experienced, gave us a perspective of what life was like50-100x years ago.

Loved it. With one exception: too much dessert, not enough beer!! Katie was fantastic.

Great Intro to Vancouver

Connor was funny and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and comfortably filling. My favorite was the sweet chili cauliflower wings from Meet. The walk was easy and Connor accommodated guests’ food and drink preferences. There were a number of stairs at a few of the restaurants. And though not a beloved attraction, we were able to stop and catch the Steam Clock at the top of the hour. I would definitely consider this tour if I come back with friends or family.

The knowledge of our guide Sean. The delicious food that was offered. Not a long walk so doable for most, great way to meet amazing people. 2.5 hours of enjoying views and local cuisine. Our guide was a blast and professional.

Super fun food & beverage tour of Gastown! Our guide, Jason, was superb. He shared his humor, passion, and great knowledge about this Vancouver neighborhood while also pacing our tour so that the wonderful bites and beverages were ready as we arrived at each venue. We were immersed in the fascinating architecture, culture, history… it was outstanding. One of the best tours we’ve taken in N. A.!

Everything we hoped for and more!

Booked this tour for our first day in Vancouver after a cruise. Hoped it would give us some options for eating out later in our stay.

The tour was brilliant, Diago was very interesting, gave us loads of info re the history of gas town and the restaurants we visited. All the food and drink we tried was excellent, but highest praise to Brioche for their tortellini. Voted the favourite of the group.

Gas Town is avery eclectic neighbourhood. Lots of very interesting shops and restaurants.

Tour highly recommended.

Taste Vancouver Food Tour: Gastown

As a local I take for granted that I know everything there is to know about the city and its areas that I frequent. So was surprised today by how much I actually didn’t, thanks to one of Taste Vancouver’s Food Tours.

They are geared towards tourists visiting, offering an easy way to explore any one given area without the need to research or open a map. You sign up, pay the fee and are led on a journey around your chosen tour area, which includes small bites and limited sips as well.

In our case, this was Gastown, and the group was assigned to meet at Waterfront Station. Although there are eight designated stopping points on the tour, the tour actually covers a lot more places of interest. As per our informative guide, Dan. There is a basic script he follows, but a lot of anecdotes are all his own. This makes sense, as he honestly made the tour. If you are just considering the cost of the tour for the amount of food and drink you get, the sum might not add up. But if considering the engagement and enthusiasm of the guide, and the tidbits and takeaway, the experience is well worth the cost. And on that note, you may want to bring change to tip. Because if your guide is as dynamic and knowledgeable as our Dan, you will want to show your appreciation.

Your guide dawns a bright neon blue smock adorned with the tour’s logo. Harder to spot this season with the need to layer, so just congregate by the gathering group, close to the first international Starbucks location outside of the US. This is just one of the many interesting factoids you will get from the tour. I won’t be saying much more, as to not ruin the experience. But expect plenty of eye-opening moments and to walk away with a new appreciation for Gastown, (should you take this tour). Not just for those visiting, but also great for locals looking for a fun thing to do one afternoon with friends. On the same line as a staycation, try being a tourist in your own city. Not to mention it is a great form of exercise given the amount of walking and standing you get in.
